Hi, I’m Haven Powell! I’m an undergraduate student at the University of Oklahoma majoring in Biology with a minor in Environmental Studies. I’ve always had a love for wildlife and hope to use the skills I learn at OU to continue my education and contribute to conservation research. I’m especially interested in Herpetology, and after taking Dr. Siler’s course in Spring 2023, I knew I wanted to be involved with the Siler Lab.

Growing up in rural Eastern Oklahoma, I had the opportunity to explore the natural world around me which sparked a passion and appreciation for creatures of all kinds. In my free time, you’ll probably find me outside with my camera! I enjoy nature photography and often stop to take pictures of anything from birds, bugs, to mushrooms. I’m always trying to learn new things about the species diversity I encounter, and I love sharing what I’ve learned with others.
