Emma Franklin is an undergraduate student at the University of Oklahoma majoring in Biology with a minor in German. She was admitted to OU with the hope of becoming a researcher in the field of Genetics. She has always found a fascination with this subject but found a love for evolutionary genetics specifically, through both her lab work in OU’s Honor College Four Year Research (FYRE) Program and through her fieldwork with the Siler Lab at Tinker Air Force Base studying Texas Horned Lizards and in a summer Field Herpetology course. In the future, she plans to earn a graduate degree and pursue a genetics career using her German language mastery to conduct research abroad.
