Revamping the Sam Noble Museum Genetics Lab

The Siler Lab and the Miller Lab (run by Matt Miller, new SNOMNH Curator of Ornithology) have teamed up to deep clean, bleach, and rearrange furniture to split one genetics lab into TWO!  We had 6 “fun” filled days with sponges and mops and are quite proud of our new facilities that have expanded our previous abilities (DNA extractions, gels, PCRs and Sanger Sequences) to the ability to run qPCR (to screen for amphibian infectious disease in house!) and the development of genomic libraries.  We are proud of our student’s hard work over the last week and are excited about  the amazing new research that will come out of our two labs and the Sam Noble Museum!
