Photo of the Day: Philippine Forest Crested Lizard

This is one of the eastern Philippine island populations of crested lizards in the genus Gonocephalus. ┬áMembers of the genus in the Philippines are forest obligate species, with three, relatively widespread species currently recognized in the archipelago. ┬áMales develop quite beautiful crests on their heads and backs, and you can’t beat the eye color.
