Last month, Jessa had the honor of attending the annual meeting of the Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections (SPNHC) in Denver, CO on June 19–23, 2017. At this conference, she presented a poster entitled “Citizen Science Involvement in Oklahoma Amphibian Infectious Disease Screening.” She also participated in a half-day workshop entitled “Writing for Successful Jounral Publication to Promote Effective Change in Natural History Collections.” She was also able to attend 2 full days of technical sessions, a behind-the-scenes tour of the Avenir Collections at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and network with museum/university collections staff from many national and international museums.  Jessa even had the opportunity to explore a little bit of Denver and the surrounding areas, including the top of local 14K footer, Mt. Evans.  View more photos here.
